It's official.
Paramount Pictures has confirmed the Elton John biopic, Rocketman, will be released on 17 May in 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes after the studio confirmed UK actor Taron Egerton (Kingsman) will take on the role of the iconic musician, while Dexter Fletcher will direct.
Fletcher has just finished the Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, which is due out on 1 November this year.
Written by Billy Elliott screenwriter Lee Hall, Rocketman will follow John's life from his emergence as a musical prodigy at London's Royal Academy of Music to launching his career as a pop music superstar while also focusing on his partnership with songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin.
