"In the end, I found what I needed without even really looking for it."
Newcastle five piece Dyer Maker ride a wave of dreamy surf rock with their latest single, Delay.
Premiering today via The Music ahead of its official release this Friday, Delay is one of the band’s most collaborative pieces to date, with the group workshopping it together for a few days before hitting the studio.
Vocalist Tim Howell gave us some insight into the song:
"I tried to write this song as more of a story as I felt it would be a relatable feeling to a lot of people. It starts out with someone who doesn’t really know what they are doing in life, who is seeing everyone around them ‘get their shit together’.
"I wanted to capture that feeling of coming home drunk to an empty house and lying in bed alone, feeling a sense of loneliness that I know 99% of people have felt.
"The song is about finding something you need when you least expect to find it. It comes out of nowhere and makes your life different all of a sudden, but in a super good way.

"I think this song could mean a few different things to a lot of different people and that’s the way I always want our music to be.”
