'This isn’t the end of the live music scene in Warrnambool.'

Stalwart Victorian live music venue The Loft will close its doors for good in 2019.

The Warrnambool hub, which is the region's only remaining dedicated original live music venue, will shut down in June following its annual and final Arockalypse event.

Over the past two decades, The Loft (which originally opened as The Liquid Lounge) played host to a string of huge Australian names including Kate Miller-Heidke, Tim Rogers, Sarah Blasko, Frenzal Rhomb and Josh Pyke.

Current owners Jed and Lyn Mast say they are thankful for the support they and the venue has received since taking over three years ago, however they claim the venue is no longer financially viable.

“We have, over the last three years, had some amazing support from some amazing local people and musicians,” Lyn Mast said.

“We can’t thank those people enough. And this isn’t the end of the live music scene in Warrnambool. I’m sure that something else will come along.”
