It's a big day for Aussie music!

It's one of our favourite days of the year (and even more so this year with this excellent initiative) - here's which great Aussie acts The Music team are repping for this year's Ausmusic TShirt Day.

Melbourne

Back row - Left to right

Thom Parry, Advertising Sales
Wearing: Pagan

"I chose Pagan because they are my favourite mild mannered Satanists that seem to enjoy pasta as much as I do."

Sam Wall, Vic Editor
Wearing: The Smith Street Band

"I'm all about UFOs."

Leigh Treweek, Director/Creator Of The Vibe
Wearing: Gang Of Youths

"Although I manage a number of amazing artists you have to take your hat off to what Gang Of Youths and their team has achieved over the last 18 months. Also when you have such a great roster of talent how could I choose just one. Apology being sent to all my artists now."

Donald Finlayson, Contributor
Wearing: Sophie Lowe

"There aren’t many occasions where I would say an actor turned musician was a good venture but in the case of Sophie, I’ll allow it. Here I was thinking she hadn’t released anything since 2016 but turns out she had a single out in September."

Ben Nicol, Graphic Designer
Wearing: Powderfinger

"I closed my eyes and pointed at a random Aussie band shirt. I opened my eyes and I had landed on 5SOS, so I grabbed the Powderfinger one."

Antony Attridge, Sales Executive
Wearing: Cool Out Sun
"Look I'm a little biased, I actually work with Cool Out Sun... but I'm also damn proud of the fact. This is a musical outfit that's so effortlessly vibrant, energetic and positive. The music just sounds like summer to me. I'm a big consumer of merch, but this year it wasn't hard to pick which to wear."

Front row - Left to right

Maxim Boon, Group Senior Editor/National Arts Editor
Wearing: PVT

"The design on this T-shirt should explain why I chose it. I remember seeing it at the gig and going, 'ohhhh honey, I must have it'. I hope PVT continue to make music so that I can continue to go to their gigs and buy their merch."

Bella Bi, Accounts/Payroll
Wearing: Camp Cope

"I chose to wear Camp Cope today mostly because I think the design and colour are great, but also because of their great work."

Jessica Dale, Assistant Editor/Social Media Coordinator
Wearing: Press Club

"This year I'm repping Melbourne group Press Club because their debut album is excellent and they put on a killer live show which more people should be heading along to. And also because I recently moved to Melbourne and still have to wear long sleeved shirts because, well, freezing."

Felicity Case-Mejia, Graphic Designer
Wearing: Gooch Palms

"It was this or a T-shirt where their logo is crafted out of penises and boobs. I went the safer option and I definitely have my regrets."

Brisbane

Lauren Baxter, Qld Editor
Wearing: Powderfinger

"Today I am doing my Brisbane duty by repping the iconic Powderfinger. And yes it's a cool tee from an even cooler band, but it's important to remember that while at times it might seem like "This life well its slipping right through my hands," we are never alone and organisations like Support Act are doing amazing things helping to support the mental health of Aussie musicians and industry folk."

Perth

Dan Cribb, Digital Editor
Wearing: The Stiffys

"I have a lot of local band shirts but only a few sailing hats released by an Aussie act. I spent some time on tour with The Stiffys back in 2012 when I was playing bass in David Liebe Hart’s band. It was weird and wonderful and at the end they gave me free stuff."
