"For Steven Zhu's debut, believe the hype."

More ZHU More ZHU

Low profile producer ZHU rarely shows his face and scores an inescapable megahit before turning his attentions to a longplayer.

Oh wait — come back! For Steven Zhu's debut, believe the hype. The megahit in question (Working For It, featuring Megatron's farts thanks to a mildly distracting Skrillex) fulfils obligation by being stuffed at the end, but everything else about Generationwhy screams 'Why not?!'. These are sophisticated, sexy slow jams which temper the much expected bombast such as Electrify Me's bucolic rave scene and Palm Of My Hand, which melts a forlorn Pink Floyd guitar over a gorgeous Balearic sunset. Surprisingly top-notch all 'round.
