Highlights include Poor Kelly Blues and the sombre Midnight Comes Too Soon, which suits Ford’s guitar style and slightly awkward singing.

More Robben Ford More Robben Ford

Every now and then a guitar legend dares to go it alone, usually with mixed results. Ford's latest release is essentially a live album recorded in the studio over one day and the results are quite good considering. It does help that he enlists some great players to join him. Legendary keyboardist Ricky Peterson (David Sanborn) is one of those assets, with his Hammond organ all over these tracks. Highlights include Poor Kelly Blues and the sombre Midnight Comes Too Soon, which suits Ford's guitar style and slightly awkward singing.
