Barnsey's back

More Jimmy Barnes More Jimmy Barnes

Jimmy Barnes opened to the originally seated and demure crowd with I’d Die To Be With You Tonight and as the throng slowly surged to the front of the stage, causing all out anarchy, it was then that the show truly began. Barnes didn’t disappoint with his screaming vocals and blues guitar.

Ride The Night Away would follow and provide fans with the ultimate experience. The Barnes storm was gathering and there was nothing you could do to stop it. Soulful guitar licks peppered the track while his two daughters and wife crooned. The Working Class Man album would be the first on show as pounding percussion welcomed No Second Prize as the height of patriotism could be felt in the air so much that the faint smell of Vegemite became present.

The second act featured the entirety of his album Freight Train Heart and began with Driving Wheels that had whirling guitar and flicking mullets. Too Much Ain't Enough Love started with screeching guitar and didn’t let up until the very end. Soulful lyrics and warm percussion set the scene for Barnes to scream along.

I've Been Waiting For The Heartache was filled with wailing guitar and gritty vocals while ominous keys and dark bass would feature in Last Frontier. I Wanna Get Started With You was complimented with blues guitar that meshed with a country twang s this rendition turned the heat up in Enmore and warmed the punters before Still On Your Side careened in. The crowd screeched the lyrics back in sheer devotion.

His encore would be the cherry on top of a stellar performance. Flame Trees urged punters to wrap their sweaty arms around one another as they swayed to the tepid guitar and deep bass lines. Lay Down Your Guns would complete his dynamic and intense set with ferocious keys and fiery percussion as the fans slowly sifted out of the venue wiping the remnants of the evening from their trickling foreheads.
