"Unashamedly cheesy shtick constructed from the glittering trash pile of '90s rave."

More Die Antwoord More Die Antwoord

Die Antwoord's fourth album finds the wacky South African duo peddling their unashamedly cheesy shtick constructed from the glittering trash pile of '90s rave.

Ninja treats us to yawn-worthy descriptions of his private parts, Yolandi takes us to an eternally 3am raveland on bangers like Banana Brain and child rapper Lil Tommy Terror's obsession with penises feels slightly homoerotic. The second half of the album starts to slump into a whole lot of dark mother-fuckerisms and violence. We've been there before, but the crawl through the garbage to deal visions of heaven and hell is at once alluring and repulsive.
