US comedian is making his way back.

More Tracy Morgan More Tracy Morgan

US actor Tracy Morgan is taking his first steps back into comedy since a fatal car crash last year, with the announcement that the 46-year-old comic will appear on sketch show Saturday Night Live as a guest host this October.

In June last year, Morgan was involved in a tragic car accident that killed long-time friend and collaborator James McNair, as well as leaving him with severe brain trauma, a broken leg and several broken ribs.

Two months ago the 30 Rock star appeared on the US Today Show in his first live interview since the accident and vowed to return to comedy and he will do just that on SNL which will take place on 17 October.

Ironically, Morgan shot to fame as a cast member on the long-running comedy show in 1996 and starred as a regular until 2003.
