The Rubens Want To Fly You And A Mate To ValleyWays Festival

The Rubens are proving to be the MVPs of this festive season (and Black Friday sales) by announcing they’re giving away $10,000 to one fan and their friend to attend their festival, ValleyWays, in February 2024.

“We’re giving away $10,000 to a lucky fan and their friend to fly from anywhere in the world to come to our festival, ValleyWays, in Australia,” The Rubens said in a new Instagram video.

Here’s how you can be in with a chance to win: “To enter this competition, all you have to do is make a video using our song, Good Mood. Hashtag that video #therubensgoodmood to enter. It could be as long or as short as you like; just make it as fun as possible.

“And then, we will choose our favourite and fly you and a friend from anywhere in the world to our festival in Australia. It’s as simple as that. Can’t wait to see you in Australia!”

Winners outside Australia and New Zealand will receive $7,500, while Australian or New Zealand-based winners will take home $2,500.

ValleyWays will take place on Saturday, 17 February, at Onslow Oval in The Rubens’ hometown of Camden, New South Wales.

Next year’s event will star headliners Grinspoon and host Aussie music royalty such as Ball Park Music, The Rubens, Ruby Fields, Coterie, Srirachi, and a local competition winner to take the last place on the line-up. Tickets to attend the event are on sale now.

Last year’s event hosted a bunch of Australian favourites, including Middle Kids, Skegss, Slowly Slowly, Stevan, Blessed, Grace Amos, Hollie Cal, Becca Hatch and The Dardie Shades, as well as the winner of last year’s triple j Unearthed competition.

“Our community has been big supporters of the band over the last ten years, and this is our way of giving back,” The Rubens explained in a press release. “ValleyWays will bring the best music to our own backyard, and we hope to do this for many years to come!”
