More At The Dakota More At The Dakota

Darwin-based indie-pop groovers At The Dakota have much to celebrate at the moment, with their second EP, Melt, set to land early next month and super-catchy recent single Arrow Holder pleasing ears around the traps since its release in late February.

Before the five-piece kick things off for their headline sojourn, they've got a couple of imminent gigs in Western Australia that local punters should absolutely put on their radars quick-smart: a launch show for Arrow Holder tonight (yes, tonight!), 2 March, at Four5Nine in Perth, and an outing at this weekend's Nannup Music Festival, at which fellow northerners Irrunytju Band will also be appearing.

Following their appearances out west, the NT Song of the Year People's Choice Award winners and 2016 National Live Music Awards finalists will kick off their headline Melt tour — proudly presented by The Music — at home in Darwin, at the Railway Club, on Friday 8 April, with support from David Garnham & The Reasons To Live and Acid City, with additional stops in Adelaide (with Royal Gala and Elli Belle), Brisbane (with Mary Handsome and Electric Suede), Sydney (with Lume Etiquette and The Zilzies), Bendigo and Melbourne (both with Jack & The Kids and special guests).

The EP itself, which was recorded by award-winning producer Broadwing in Darwin, will be released in tandem with their tour getting under way, with a scheduled release on Friday 8 April, and will naturally be available at the shows for you to snap up and add to your collection.
