Fans have taken to social media to demand refunds following Ms Lauryn Hill's show in Sydney on Thursday night.

As noted by news.com.au, the legendary R&B artist, who is currently touring the country in support of the 20th anniversary of her Grammy Award-winning debut solo album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, performed at Qudos Bank Arena for just over an hour after hitting the stage at around 10.15pm, despite being originally scheduled to commence the set at 9pm.

While many praised the performance of support act and rapper Nas, others claimed that the sound quality for Hill's set was poor and that her voice was off due to an apparent illness.

"She was clearly super sick and should have cancelled her show FULL STOP," one punter wrote on Facebook said, while another added, "Hands down, the worst concert I’ve ever been to.

"Lauryn Hill was clearly too ill to perform. She arrived on stage 1.5 hours late and then proceeded to butcher every single song with her failing voice."

The West Australian reported similar instances occurred at Hill's opening leg of the Australian tour in Perth earlier this week, saying, "By the time she finished up at about 11.15pm half the crowd exited on mass, given it was a school night and for some a level of disappointment, despite the door being left open for an encore which was brought about because of the dedicated ruckus caused be the devoted few still left".

Hill, who has a reputation for showing up late to shows, also arrived on stage well after the scheduled time for her Bluesfest 2018 performance
