Eddie Izzard To Host Just For Laughs Sydney Gala, More Acts Announced

As if the bill wasn’t big enough already, Just For Laughs have unveiled the 2014 Sydney Gala will be hosted by renowned UK comedian/actor Eddie Izzard, in addition to adding Reggie Watts, Caroline Rhea and Hannah Gadsby to the festival.

Spending a wealth of time on both the big and small screen, there’s few realms Izzard hasn’t dabbled in. From voicing a character in an episode of The Simpsons, as well as other animations and cartoons (Cars, Rex The Runt), he’s also landed rolls on blockbusters such as Valkyrie, and Ocean's Twelve and decent parts in TV shows like Hannibal — all on top of a compelling live show. His quick wit off screen will ensure a fine evening when he hosts the Gala at Sydney Opera House, Saturday 18 October.

Intriguing vocal artist/beatboxer/musician/comedian Reggie Watts’ live show is like no other, and with actor/comedian Caroline Rhea (Sabrina The Teenage Witch) and Hannah Gadsby being added to the festival, Just For Laughs 2014 is looking mighty fine.

They join previously announced talent Bill Bailey, Trevor, Jim Gaffigan and Rhys Darby for the festival, which runs from Tuesday 14 to Sunday 19 October, with dates below and The Music App.
