Dr Dre Is In Australia; Will He Be Joining Snoop Dogg On Stage?

Snoop Dogg's long-awaited I WANNA THANK ME Australian tour is finally happening, with the first night of the tour taking place at Perth's RAC Arena yesterday.

Before he went on the stage, however, the Doggyland rapper posted a cheeky snap on Instagram of himself and Dr Dre in front of His Majesty’s Theatre Perth in the city centre. 

“Life story,” he captioned the pic, sending fans into an excited overdrive - “Dre as well? Big blessings upon Perth,” one fan commented. Another said, “Holy shit! Is Dre in Perth too? Can’t wait for your gig tonight,” with another few leaving an iteration of, “Wait… Dr Dre is in Australia?” 

Does Dr Dre's appearance in Australia mean an on-stage collaboration is coming?

After last night’s show, Snoop is off to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena for two huge concerts before performing two shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, a massive event at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre before wrapping up the tour with a brand new show in Adelaide on 8 March.

Detroit rapper Obie Trice, American hip-hop collective D12, Tha Dogg Pound (made up of Kurupt and Daz Dillinger, and Irish outfit Versatile are joining Snoop on his arena tour.

Back in December, around the same time Snoop’s tour was rescheduled, a biopic about the beloved hip-hop figure was revealed to be in the works. 

As Deadline reported, the movie is in partnership with Snoop's newly formed Death Row Pictures and Universal Pictures. The biopic will be the first film from Death Row Pictures and feature music from Snoop Dogg's extensive catalogue.
