More The Cure More The Cure

Simon Gallup - longtime bass player for UK rock legends The Cure - is apparently back in the band following his departure just two months ago.

The news was made via a post on a Facebook page for a new band by the name of Alice Blue Gown, who shared a photo of Gallup playing bass to announce his role in the newly formed project.

In a comment underneath the post asking if the bassist was still a member of the Boys Don't Cry group, Gallup - via his own personal page - replied, "yes I am."

Apart from sole founding member and vocalist Robert Smith, Gallup was the longest serving member of the group when he left back in August. He said of leaving the band at the time, “With a slightly heavy heart I am no longer a member of the Cure! Good luck to them all," adding, "I’m ok… just got fed up of betrayal."

Gallup will reportedly play in both The Cure and Alice Blue Gown going forward. Smith and co have yet to comment on Gallup's departure or reintroduction to the band at this time.
