Beth Orton Reschedules Australian Tour To April 2024

Beth Orton’s Australian tour, scheduled to hit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in November, has been rescheduled to April 2024, with the Brit Award winner citing her health as the reason for putting the tour on pause.

In addition to announcing the postponement, Orton has added a date at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre for Friday, 26 April. Tickets are on sale now via Frontier Touring.

Tickets purchased for the November dates will automatically be available to use in April, but if punters can’t make it to the rescheduled dates, they need to contact the Melbourne Recital Centre, the City Recital Hall in Sydney, and The Tivoli in Brisbane.

“Dear Australia! I have an important announcement. I am having to reschedule my upcoming dates to April 2024. It’s not something I wanted to do, but for my health I need to take a pause,” Orton said in a press release. “Through the wonders of modern science, medication, diet and being super careful, I’ve been able to keep all of my commitments this year which has been a miracle. But the advice at this stage is not to push it in November.

“I’m going to stay close to home and keep everything I do local for a few months and then I will come in April when I can take on the long haul flights and put everything into touring your beautiful part of the world with an extra special configuration of musicians in my band.

“I’m really excited to announce that we are adding a new show in Hobart too. Tickets will be valid for the new dates which are listed above and below. I can’t wait to see you all soon.”

The new dates are Wednesday, 24 April, for the Melbourne Recital Centre (previously 22 November), Saturday, 27 April, at the City Recital Hall in Sydney (previously 24 November), and Tuesday, 30 April (previously 26 November) at The Tivoli in Brisbane.

If punters can no longer attend the Melbourne show, they can email boxoffice@melbournerecital.com.au. Sydney attendees need to register their details here by Friday, 27 October, to get refunded tickets, and here by 5 pm on Tuesday, 14 November, if they can no longer make it to the Brisbane concert.
