A statement has been issued.
Swedish DJ Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, is confirmed to have passed away on Friday at the age of 28.
As Billboard reports, Bergling's publicist confirmed the news in a statement.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," Diana Baron's statement reads.
"He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

The cause of death is yet to be publicly announced.
Bergling has had ongoing health issues for some time. In 2013, the producer was forced to cancel the opening night of his Australian tour after being admitted to hospital for "stomach related issues" and he also suffered acute pancreatitis.
He officially retired from touring in 2016.
Despite his young age, Bergling was one of the most sought after DJ's throughout his career.
His 2013 debut LP, True, peaked at #1 in Australia, as did his song, Wake Me Up.
He received Grammy nominations in 2012 for his track Sunshine and in 2013 for global hit, Levels.
A number of friends and figures in the music industry have since paid their respects to Bergling, including Madonna, Calvin Harris and David Guetta.

Something really horrible happened. We lost a friend with such a beautiful heart and the world lost an incredibly talented musician. Thank you for your beautiful melodies, the time we shared in the studio, playing together as djs or just enjoying life as friends.
