"We were thinking about it. Fuck yeah."
The Slipknot-created music festival, Knotfest, is considered one of the premier metal events as it showcases some of the best talent around the world and according to frontman Corey Taylor, he is seriously interested in booking Aussie pop punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer in the future.
Taking part in a speed round during an interview with The Music in Sydney this week, the revered singer had nothing but nice things to say about the Sydney band.
"What about them? I met the drummer [Ashton Irwin]," Taylor recalled.
"Great kid. Really great kid. Really cool and my niece kind of freaked out because I met him. It was kind of adorable.

"He's a big Slipknot fan, I guess the whole band is. So we were gonna get them for Knotfest one year. We were thinking about it. Fuck yeah."
When asked why the plans never eventuated, the Stone Sour vocalist responded by saying that the idea is still on the table.
"Not yet, we're still doing it," he said.
"It's still out there."
Taylor told The Music in the same chat that there is still hope for Knotfest to travel to Australia, which he said could potentially fill the void left by the now-defunct Soundwave festival.
