With one event specifically for our electronic artists

We're less than a month away from SXSW now in Austin, Texas and getting amped to see what our Aussie acts will be getting up to at the music conference extravaganza.

We're even more amped after hearing that in 2017 there'll be not one, but two Aussie BBQ events to accommodate our burgeoning list of local musos.

The first event will be held in its home of Brush Square Park on 16 March, and now extra sangas will be fried for a second event on 17 March, focused exclusively on our electronic artists.

Sounds Australia's Esti Zilber states, "After Flume’s Grammy win there’s going to be even more eyes looking towards Australia’s electronic music output."

Sounds Australia's Sound Gallery showcase is now in its seventh year and will also host two events at BD Riley's this year, with the second event aimed at showcasing the diverse roots, folk and Americana we're exporting to festivals like Folk Alliance International and AmericanaFest.

Zilber states, "Both of the additional specialty line-ups we think will help highlight the amazing diversity of music coming out of Australia."

The two Aussie BBQ events will host acts Alex Lahey, All Our Exes Live In Texas, Black Rheno, Cameron Avery, Castlecomer, Gabriella Cohen, Japanese Wallpaper, Kasey Chambers, Koi Child, Kučka, Oscar Key Sung, PINES, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Running Touch, Starley, Sui Zhen, Thigh Master, Totally Mild, Vera Blue, WILSN and Woodes.

Across Sound Gallery's two events, you can catch Beth Brown, Food Court, Hamish Anderson, Hockey Dad, Joel Sarakula, Josh Cashman, Juanita Stein, Slow Dancer, The Coconut Kids, The Elliotts, The Heart Collectors, The Rumjacks and Tim Wheatley.

SXSW kicks off on 10 March until 19 March.
