Back again in Brush Square Park

Following some uncertainty on whether Sounds Australia would even head to SXSW this year — following the government announcing its axing of Sounds Australia funding, and then reinstating them — the music industry body has announced their date and venue for the annual Aussie BBQ.

The Aussie BBQ will return to Brush Square Park's East Tent for its third year in 2017, with the BBQ scheduled for Thursday, 16 March.

Sounds Australia are currently reaching out to the 45-strong contingent of Australian artists at the Austin, Texas mega-conference this year, including Vera Blue, Middle Kids, CW Stoneking, Tkay Maidza, Hockey Dad and Mansionair.

Speaking to The Music, Sound Australia's Millie Milgate teased of the Aussie BBQ bill, "We can tell you it's an incredibly strong group of acts representing this year!"
