Having just released their tenth studio album, Hardwired… To Self Destruct, Soundwave founder AJ Maddah has hinted that metal icons Metallica will be touring Australia next year. 

Taking to Twitter earlier today, Maddah wrote, "START SAVING YOUR PENNIES [sic] AUSTRALIA! #Metallica #2017".

While it is yet to be officially confirmed, an Aussie run would be perfect timing for the US band given the new album release, which debuted at #1 this past weekend. 

Metallica last toured our shores as the headline act of the Soundwave Festival back in 2013.
