A solid Aussie contingent has joined the ranks for March's mecca in Austin, TX
Punters in the US are set to cop a hot load of fresh Aussie tunes right to their ear-holes at next year's South By Southwest event in Austin, Texas, with a wealth of local legends announced on the bill today alongside several international points of interest.
Newly announced acts flying the flag for the land Down Under will be veteran troubadour C.W. Stoneking, WAM-nominated songstress Kučka, on-fire Brissy rockers Thigh Master, Sydney buzz act Middle Kids and Adelaide breakouts PINES. Our mates in New Zealand also contribute to proceedings by way of the inclusion of celebrated artist Ladyhawke. The local contingent join previously announced Aussies such as Alex Lahey, Wafia, Oscar Key Sung, Alex Cameron, Vera Blue and more headed to Austin in March.
Alongside the Australian additions, several renowned internationals (well, for us) have been added to the festivities, including veteran Seattle indie outfit Minus The Bear, Chicago faves Joan Of Arc, their city-mates in cult crew Meat Wave, stalwart New York group The Drums, Canadian performer Charlotte Day Wilson, London's SOHN, multi-talented Cuban rapper, singer and instrumentalist La Dame Blanche, German singer-songwriter and producer Roosevelt, Omaha soul(ish) group High Up, and so, so many more incredible artists from all around the world. See the full list of additions below.
South By Southwest, which will mark 30 years since its 1987 inception in 2017, returns to Austin from 13-19 March.
