Those US Car Commercials Just Got Empire Of The Sun On 'Ellen'

Earlier this year we reported that Aussie duo Empire Of The Sun's 2008 hit song Walking On A Dream made its debut on the US Billboard Chart thanks to some Honda commercials that featured the track and now, thanks to those same advertisements, the Sydney outfit have scored a spot on The Ellen Show this week. 

Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore performed the classic song complete in their signature garbs, following an introduction from Ellen Degeneres who even referenced those genius car commercials. 

While it is obviously awesome to see the guys getting mainstream US attention, it does feel just a touch odd, as the song that is seemingly blowing up around America is the same song that won the ARIA Single Of The Year back in 2009 and came in at #4 on the 2008 triple j Hottest 100.

Bet you feel old now. 

Regardless, after cracking the Top 100 last February it is now climbing the dance chart too, having climbed from #9 last week to #7 on the US Dance Club Song chart, as well as maintaining #3 on the Alternative Songs chart.
