Could this be more than a one-off appearance?

The late Notorious BIG (real name Christopher Wallace) is set to be brought back to life on stage and in music videos in the form of a hologram, four years after fellow rapper Tupac's holographic performance at Coachella.

According to Billboard, ARHT Media have secured the digital rights to Biggie Smalls' hologram and have already made plans for him to appear in former wife Faith Evans' music video for the first single from her upcoming duets album, The King & I.

"What we’re gonna start with is a video with the first single from The King & I then I think Faith wants to do a little tour," ARHT Media founder Rene Bharti said.

Evans confirmed plans, saying, "After seeing all the technologies out there, I realized right away that ARHT Media would be the best partner to bring back Notorious BIG.

"I look forward to continue working with them and presenting the world with his Humagram in both video and stage format, through the release of my album The King & I."

BIG's mother, Voletta Wallace, said the project has been a long time coming and is "very special" to her.

"Words can't even capture how elated I am for the world to finally see my son again on stage and beyond, Wallace said.

"Christopher’s impact and legacy will not only live through his past work, but also the new experiences which have been made possible through ARHT Media."

It has also been speculated that BIG's hologram may appear at the Puff Daddy-led 'One Night Only' show in Brooklyn next month, which will celebrate what would be the 44th birthday of the hip hop artist and feature performances from Puff, Evans, Jay Z, Mary J Blige and more, though it has not been confirmed at this stage.

Wallace was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in 1997.
