Byron metalcore luminaries Parkway Drive have announced the winner of their #nameparkwaystour competition, giving the nod to fan Justin Fimmel for his suggestion, the All Aussie Adventure Tour.

Fimmel's tour name took the win after 'hundreds of entries and hours of deliberating', the band wanting to turn naming rights for their forthcoming sojourn with Make Them Suffer over to their dedicated fans after realising they were "just kind of stuck for names.

"We could have called it anything, but we figured if that was the case, we may as well let our fans throw some names at us," frontman Winston McCall said in a statement.

"We had so many great entries," he continued. "Many hours of laughs, which is what we were hoping for.

"We ended up going with 'All Aussie Adventure' because it fit the tour for all the bands playing; Parkway, Make Them Suffer and the local bands at every stop. Plus we all love Russell Coight so that gave the entry the winning edge."

It's not just the 'all Aussie' part of the name that evokes the true spirit of the forthcoming sojourn, however; the run is indeed an 'adventure' in the truest sense, taking in shows located a little off the more-beaten track. To wit, the All Aussie Adventure Tour — which is all-ages for all performances, with specific exceptions noted — kicks off with a showing at Brothers, in Cairns, on 15 June, heading through Townsville (The Venue, 16 June), Sunshine Coast (Lake Kawana, 17 June), Toowoomba (Powerhouse, 18 June), Gold Coast (Convention & Exhibition Centre, 19 June), Bateau Bay (PCYC, 23 June), Penrith (Panthers, 24 June), Wollongong (Uni Bar, licensed all ages, 25 June), Sutherland (Entertainment Centre, 26 June), Albury (The Cube, 30 June), Bendigo (Bendigo Stadium, 1 July), Geelong (The Arena, 2 July) and Frankston, where they wrap up with their only 18+ show of the tour at Chelsea Heights on 3 July.

Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday, 15 April. See below for a full spread of details and links.
