Another big name announced.

The Soundwave 2016 drip-feed of artists continues and today it has been announced via the festival website that Finnish heavy metal band Lordi will be bringing their monstrous costumes to Australia next year in what will be their debut performance at the festival.

The veteran hard rock group who won the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest (the only heavy metal band to do so) are the second act to be announced this week following yesterday's news that Aussie metalcore band Northlane are also heading to Soundwave.

With another announcement expected to happen this Friday, there is believed to just be only a few more select acts to drop before the first full announcement of 22 bands are released.

So far, Bullet For My Valentine, Dead Letter Circus, Failure, Refused, Northlane and now Lordi will perform on Saturday 23 January in Brisbane, Sunday 24 January in Sydney, and Tuesday 26 January in Melbourne.
