Simmons and Kendall go head-to-head for Best Comedy Show.
The shortlist for the 2015 Edinburgh Comedy Awards has been unveiled, with Aussies Sam Simmons, Sarah Kendall and Tom Ballard making the cut.
No stranger to the Edinburgh comedy circus having been nominated for two Fringe Awards last year, Simmon’s Spaghetti For Breakfast show also landed the top prize at Melbourne Comedy Festival in April, and is now up against fellow Aussie comic Kendall and her A Day In October set for Best Comedy Show.
A Day In October made waves at Melbourne International Comedy Festival this March, and “interrogates the shameful memories that haunt us.”
Simmons and Kendall are up against New Zealand funny man Trygve Wakenshaw, who won Best Comedy at the Perth and Adelaide Fringe festivals this year, and received a nomination for MICF’s prestigious Barry Award in 2014.
