The annual celebration of Record Store Day is almost upon us, as industry and fans alike prepare to celebrate the humble and resilient music outlets that have continued to fight the good old bricks-and-mortar fight in the face of shifting market values and new technologies this weekend.
Taking place at outlets all around the country this Saturday, 18 April, Record Store Day has gathered an epic spread of participating stores, live gigs and activities and new releases to coax consumers away from their computers and into their warm and loving embrace.

78 Records will be hosting a "15% off everything" sale (excluding limited editions and tickets), a raffle for a turntable, amp and speakers, a treasure hunt with a $100 gift voucher as prize, live acoustic music and plenty of limited special releases for the day.
Sound One at Dog Swamp Shopping Centre Yokine will be selling the Crosley Cruiser Turntable for $159.95. Limited stock available.

St Mary's Sound Centre will be hosting Record Store Day Ambassador Amber Lawrence from 10am plus Jason Owens instore for performances and signings, plus a free stubby cooler with every purchase of one of Lawrence's CDs. All second-hand records are half-price, T-shirts and hoodies $10 off, and more.
Utopia Records have a bunch of activities, not least of which includes a whole host of new titles from metal bands all over the world — check their Facebook for more information.
At Red Eye Records from 3pm, meet and hear Dave from Gang Of Youths performing an acoustic set and signing, plus 10% off second-hand stock, 50% off Record Revirginiser (while stocks last), $50 off the price of Rowland S Howard's four-LP set Six Strings That Drew Blood, and more.
There will be general discounts and specials at Sandy's Music, while Hum On King will have a wealth of limiteds, a massive spread of vinyl and a "special secret thing" between noon and 4pm that involves hearing a "major internation act's album before launch". Exciting!
Also check with Pacific Records, Birdland Records, Fish Fine Music, Sounds Espresso, Revolve, Audio Boutique, Mojo, Repressed, Classic Hi Fi, Beatdisc, Resist, and Title in Surry Hills and Crows Nest.
Coffee, food, wine and beer all day at Crackle & Pop Records, in Lindes Lane cafe & wine bar, plus limited releases and a good spread of vinyl. Streetlight will host live music in the street outside from Ghyti, EMU, Stables Vices and The Yabbies — bands start at 3pm, store opens at 8am.
Clarity Records is going the whole hog and opening for the full 24 hours of Record Store Day, and they're filling themselves out with T-shirts, limiteds, specials, and more.

Eureka Rebellion Trading is going all out, with up to 70% off all vinyl; CDs, DVDs and 45s available from $1; music trivia for discounts and prizes; tattoo flash from $80; $28 haircuts, 25% off pomades; and an introduction to piercing.
Goldmine Records is celebrating two stores with a bunch of vinyl and exclusive releases, plus live music from 3pm at the North Fitzroy store from Masses and Tol.
Obese Records is hosting a barbecue, with live music from midday courtesy of Reason and J-Sun, with more to be announced, while Greville Records welcomes the legendary Paul Kelly live in store with Saint Jude.
At Quality Records Malvern, the outlet will celebrate both Record Store Day and its 21st birthday with live jazz guitar from Nick Freer, a wealth of RSDA-specific specials and collectibles, a raffle, costume party, 10% off all stock, and a $2 coffee voucher from nearby cafe Lilette, plus more. Round Again is also offering plenty of discounts, with 20% off all new and used records on the table plus 10% off turntables, speakers, amps and the rest of the store's stock.
Thomas' Music is giving 15% off across the store, including box sets (sale items excluded), with "heavy" discounts available on LP and CD box sets, while Essendon Secondhand is rife with bargains, from the $1 table outside to $2 Fairtrade coffee vouchers, plus live music from 11am to 1pm. Dixons Recycled will be taking 20% off everything except new vinyl, holds and lay-by.
Sweet Little Hi Fi at Geelong's Mill Markets, open from 10am, will boast live performance from blues legend Chris Willison at 2pm and Mick's Dog Bone Yard at 3pm, while Rathdowne Records has a wealth of live music and specials on offer, including appearances by Tulalah, First Response, Caroline No, Henry Manetta, Adam Rudegeair and DJs.
Also check with Wax Museum Records, Lost & Found Market, Know Your Product, Poison City Records, Polyester Records, Title Fitzroy, Thornbury Records and the Readings branches in Carlton, Hawthorn and St Kilda.
Live music from Halfway at Vital Juices, Redcliffe, with specials, lucky dips, a sausage sizzle, best-dressed prize and 20% off almost everything to boot, while Carindale's Rockaway Records will take 20% off vinyl and boast limiteds, live music, and the chance at prizes with purchases of $40 or more.
The Audio Tailor will be giving away 1000 records for free, plus 20% off used vinyl, as well as in-store bonus deals; Wynnum Market's Lost & Found will be giving three free vinyl records away to everyone who enters the store, and receive 20% off all other vinyl in the store. Plus live music, coffee cart, food truck and a vintage T-shirt press.
Living Sound & Vision will have giveaways and in-store deals, plus every Pro-Ject turntable purchase gets a half-price phonobox pre-amp, and more. Over at Tym Guitars, live music, specials and exclusive limited-edition goodies are on offer, while Treasures 4 You are offering 20% off vinyl LPs, 45s and CDs across the board.
Rocking Horse will have live bands in-store, as will Title Brisbane, while Jet Black Cat Music will be offering a T-shirt designed by Courtney Barnett and an after party after 8pm, and The Record Exchange will have "huge" sales and a wealth of specials up for grabs.
