And another band has come forward pointing to a few "similarities" of their own

More SAFIA More SAFIA

Canberran electro three-piece Safia are "ready to move on" from their saga with the filmmakers behind Ariana Grande's One Last Time video clip after their assertion that certain elements may have been "straight up stolen" from their video for You Are The One.

Following a high-profile few days online, Safia have conceded that "there's no way of ever proving whether Ariana's clip was influenced by 'You Are The One' and it genuinely may have been a coincidence", saying that, while they believe "it's important to stand up for our work, which we spend so much of our lives devoted to", they're now "ready to move on from this".

The band made the statement on social media, where they also thanked their fans for caring enough about their work to have highlighted the similarities in the first place, but expressed that "This is not how we want our name to reach the masses".

"If you hear about us, we want it to be because of our music and not because of a 'scandal'," the band wrote.

Despite their readiness to let the past be the past, another Aussie band has followed in the footsteps of Injured Ninja — who yesterday were also dragged into the fray as possible progenitors of the ideas in You Are The One's clip with their likewise similar 2011 clip Fallopian Tube Screamer — by highlighting similarities between an old video and one of Safia's.

Brisbane outfit Aerials took to Facebook this morning to cheekily take the jab at Safia (at the same time deftly plugging new single and tour Burn Burn Burn), posting a pair of screenshot series taken from their own 2012 clip Patient Parades and the Canberrans' 2013 accompaniment for Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues.

"After all that Ariana Grande v Safia gossip yesterday, it was brought to our attention that our music video for 'Patient Parades' back in 2012 was also thoroughly enjoyed by Safia, but maybe a little too much!" the band wrote on their Facebook page.

"Don't worry boys, we still love you!"
