'Indian Summer' has performed better than midweek figures predicted

More Hellions More Hellions

Sydney-based post-hardcore outfit Hellions have landed in the ARIA Albums Chart top 20, going 11 spots better than midweek figures had predicted.

The band's second album Indian Summer, released through UNFD, was expected to land in the top 30 initially, obviously gaining more momentum sales-wise in the second half of the week. It was the highest debut of the week across both the Albums and Singles chart. Soon-to-be-touring American rock band Title Fight landed the next highest album debut of the week, with their new record Hyperview placing at 50.

Taylor Swift maintained her stronghold with 1989 once again sitting in first place, while Chet Faker's Hottest 100 bump stayed fairly steady — his debut LP Built On Glass landed at five this week. Fellow Aussie Sia moved slightly up the chart, with her LP 1000 Forms Of Fear jumping a few spots to seven.

The Laneway effect came into play, as expected, with Flight Facilities' Down To Earth (13), Banks' Goddess (23), Royal Blood's self-titled LP (27) and FKA Twigs' LP1 (30) some of the records to enjoy movement off the back of the festival.

Over to the ARIA Singles Chart and Omi's Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) once again claimed the top spot, with Mark Ronson, who visited the country this week, and his anthem Uptown Funk sitting in second. The new collaboration between Rhianna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, FourFiveSeconds, jumped into third after placing at 13 last week.

There wasn't a huge amount of movement singles-wise this week, though the much-talked about new track from former Silverchair leader Daniel Johns, Aerial Love debuted in the 50 at 50.
