As they rocket towards one of the most controversial Hottest 100 countdowns ever, triple j have confirmed next week’s playlist additions – with seven Aussie artists receiving a nod.
American rapper Joey Bada$$ has scored the Feature Album slot with B4.DA.$$ but Aussies feature prominently in the other adds.
Coachella-bound Sydney DJ and songwriter Alison Wonderland’s track U Don’t Know (which features The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne) has been selected, as has Euthanise Me from Melbourne punk group Clowns. The independent outfit will release their album through Poison City.
Sydney’s Hermitude are back with Through The Roof (featuring Young Tapz) and that’s resonated with triple j programmers, while Victorian newcomers Slum Sociable feel the love with their track Anyway. It’s released through Mushroom’s Liberation and the band are managed by Jon St Clair of Illusive (also a Mushroom company).
