Which is fortunate, because it looks awful
US actress and comedian Aubrey Plaza has responded to a tide of criticism directed towards the recently released trailer for her forthcoming Grumpy Cat Christmas movie pretty much in-character, swatting away negative opinions with memes and describing the film as "so terrible it's genius".
It's only been a few days since the trailer was first uploaded to YouTube, but so far opinions around the internet have been resolutely steeped in disapproval, justified or otherwise. If you haven't yet seen it, you can subject yourself to the walking example of the man's hubris, and harbinger of our own cultural demise, below.
Plaza has taken to Twitter today to... defend?... the movie, deflecting the naysayers with a ream of Grumpy Cat memes, because, in fairness, there's probably not really a better way for her to have addressed the backlash.
