The annual industry showcase is well-looked-after for Aussie musos
Vance Joy, The Vines … it's been pretty obvious lately that our friends in the United States have been quickly developing a wider appreciation for antipodean anthems of late.
Now, New York City's esteemed annual industry showcase New York City's esteemed annual industry showcase CMJ Music Marathon has revealed its line-up for 2014, with organisers seeming are well in-tune with the world of Aussie music, with locals Bad//Dreems, Bored Nothing, Courtney Barnett and an impressive array of others filling out the more-than-1300-artist-strong line-up.
Also appearing at the conference, held in Brooklyn and Manhattan from October 21-25 this year, will be the likes of D.D Dumbo, DMA's, Dune Rats, Glass Towers, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Luluc, Sampology and Zeahorse.

It mightn't be as local a shindig as BIGSOUND (at which some of the aforementioned acts, such as Bad//Dreems and D.D Dumbo, will be appearing next month), nor as necessarily widely appreciated as South By Southwest, but, make no mistake, the CMJ Music Marathon is a venerated event, held across more than 80 venues in the heart of the city that never sleeps — quite the development from its early days in the 1980s as a way for industry suits to be exposed to the hottest emerging acts on the local college radio scene.
