The brand new event is officially northward bound

Spanking-new Americana celebration Out On The Weekend is building on the considerable buzz around its inaugural Melbourne event and national headline shows with this morning’s announcement that it will be heading north to bring the down-home good times to the sunny surrounds of Brisbane this October.

The Queensland iteration of the festival, which sports none-too-shabby prospects such as Nikki Lane, Robert Ellis, The Delines, Jonny Fritz, Emma Swift, Halfway, Paddy McHugh and the Warren Earl Band, will be held from midday until 8pm on Sunday, October 26, at Fortitude Valley’s The Brightside.

Delicious, life-sustaining food will come courtesy of the Gourmet Traveller Bar Of The Year Award-winning Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall, which will keep punters’ bellies satisfied with their renowned Yankee-style wares such as po’boys, popcorn shrimp and mini-corndogs.
