This is one hell of a rap show.

More Earl Sweatshirt More Earl Sweatshirt

There's a lot of great hip hop on the 2014 Laneway Festival bill, and now organisers have given rap fans a chance to see this talent in more intimate surrounds as they announce two sideshows featuring some of the biggest and most celebrated names in modern underground rap today.

Heading up the bill is OFWGKTA young gun Earl Sweatshirt, a prodigiously talented rapper with a hell of a story (he was the “missing” member of the group up until quite recently). His last dates here with Tyler, The Creator as Earlwolf proved his incredible abilities on the live stage, so the chance to see him again so soon is very exciting.

The hotter than hot Danny Brown is also a part of the bill, the Detroit rapper has just dropped his new LP Old and is getting some serious props from all manner of critics and fans for the record so far. Since his last visit to Australia he has blown up considerably and we've got no doubt his live show remains kick arse.

Run The Jewels is the new project from El-P (who absolutely killed at Laneway this year) and Killer Mike and Aussie audiences are getting a chance to see them quite early on in their existence. The record they dropped mid-year is killer, so we've got high expectations for their Australian debut.

Rounding out the bill is Canberra MC Citizen Kay, one of the most exciting voices we've ever heard in Aussie hip hop. He floored us at BIGSOUND and we're stoked he's got a chance to prove himself on a bill like this.
