Haim and Hunters & Collectors tribute on her tail

More Lorde More Lorde

New Zealand star Lorde is set to achieve her first Australian number one this week, with midweek figures indicating her debut album Pure Heroine is the odds-on favourite to topple Kings Of Leon's Mechanical Bull.

It's been a stunning year for the 16-year-old Lorde, who will appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight Australian time, with breakout tracks Royals and Tennis Court from her The Love Club EP. Signed to Universal as a pre-teen, they've managed her roll-out supremely and quickly followed up that EP with the album Pure Heroine, which is expected to chart strongly in most international markets.

While the figures indicate she's the favourite to topple the current number ones, Haim's Days Are Gone and the Hunters & Collectors tribute album Crucible: The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors are on her tail. Haim's inclusion on the Laneway line-up and high profile endorsements have done well to continue the Splendour momentum through to the album release while Hunters' performance at the AFL Grand Final halftime and post-game shows have given the compilation a great start to the week.

Birds Of Tokyo's March Fires is also experiencing a jump thanks to their pre-game performance.

Justin Timberlake's album The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2 is tracking well, but not as well as its sister record did earlier this year. Other top debuts will come from Birdy's album of her own tracks Fire Within and Alter Bridge's Fortress. Dizzee Rascal's The Fifth and Moby's Innocents also look set for top 50 debuts.

The Great Gatsby's release on DVD has given the soundtrack a boost, while Listen Out headliners Disclosure are enjoying increased sales of their album Settle.

Katy Perry's Roar is enjoying such a big lead on the ARIA Singles Chart at the moment that – as was suggested in last week's figures – she'll be hard to topple.

Melbourne rapper Illy will debut in the top 50 with his Youngbloods track, which borrows the chorus from The Amity Affliction's track of the same name. Amity vocalist Ahren Stringer re-recorded the vocals for the track and is listed as featuring on the single. The other main debuts will come from Jessica Mauboy's Pop A Bottle (Fill Me Up) and Zedd featuring Paramore's Hayley Williams' Stay The Night.

Lorde's album has given her single Tennis Court a sales push this week, while Birds Of Tokyo's football exposure will also give their Lanterns a push. Sales bumps are also being experienced by Capital Cities' Safe And Sound and Warner-signer YouTube viral stars Ylvis's The Fox.
