Comedy Channel gets Legit with Jim Jefferies

More Jim Jefferies More Jim Jefferies

Australian comedian Jim Jefferies is sometimes compared to Louis CK and seems to have garnered a bigger following in the States than he has here at home.

Last year US cable network FX commissioned a sit-com from Jefferies and the end-result was the lauded 13-part series Legit.

Finally a local Australian network has picked up the show, with Comedy Channel today announcing that Legit would screen 8.30pm Thursdays from July 25.

Legit finds Jefferies playing a "fictionalised version of himself", a foul-mouthed Australian comedian trying to make it in LA. Alongside the Australian, the show co-stars cult TV favourites DJ Qualls (TV nerds know him best as hunter Garth in Supernatural) and Dan Bakkedahl (you might not know the name but you'll know his face - he most recently brought the laughs as Congressman Furlong in HBO hit Veep).
