"...A gorgeous, crisp offering that shows Your Friend is an interesting new voice."

Your Friend's debut album is an intriguing combination of found sounds and languid songwriting by the Kansas-based Taryn Miller.

Sounding at times like a less caffeinated Tune-Yards, there is a meditative quality that can wash over you and feel sluggish (Desired Things) with the droning and buzzing effects becoming overpowering. There are moments of bubbling brooks or a lighter, airy mood like on Gumption, with the lyric-as-mantra "How will I know?". Album closer Who Will I Be In the Morning? is a gorgeous, crisp offering that shows Your Friend is an interesting new voice and sound creator who could lead us on a unique journey.
