Warwick Capper To Play Pandemonium Rocks After Party

We’re just days away from the first date of Pandemonium Rocks festival, and Melbourne’s Cherry Bar has confirmed an afterparty with AFL legend Warwick Capper taking part as a DJ.

From 11:30 pm until “real late” this Saturday (20 April), Cherry Bar is holding a Pandemonium Rocks afterparty, with Alice Cooper’s guitarist Ryan Roxie, Warwick Capper and DJ Mermaid hosting DJ sets. Venue owner James Young and Melbourne singer Envy Marshall will host the afterparty.

According to the afterparty poster, punters who have attended the inaugural Pandemonium Rocks festival earlier that day can score $10 Lemmys and $7 tinnies. Check out the poster below.

Pandemonium Rocks begins this Saturday at the Caribbean Gardens in Victoria. The festival continues on Thursday, 25 April (the ANZAC Day public holiday) at Sydney’s Cathy Freeman Park, followed by two new venues in Queensland: Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast on Saturday, 27 April, and Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on Sunday, 28 April (Blondie won’t be appearing in Brisbane).

In addition to the festival dates, headliners Alice Cooper and Blondie will host a Pandemonium Rocks sideshow at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 23 April.

Earlier this month, Blondie and Alice Cooper confirmed that the festival would advance despite facing “serious challenges” that threatened the tour.

As well as the Queensland legs of the festival locking in new venues, Pandemonium’s line-up effectively halved, according to organisers’ statements this month. Deep Purple, Placebo, Dead Kennedys (already confirmed), Gang Of Four, Gyroscope, and Petch are out, while Blondie, Alice Cooper, The Psychedelic Furs, Wheatus, Wolfmother, Palaye Royale, and Cosmic Psychos are still on board.

Before the news of possible “alterations” and changes to the set-up was announced last month, Pandemonium blasted reports that the festival was cancelled after Nine News Gold Coast claimed the event was off.

In January, the festival faced its first major controversy in New South Wales for its initial ANZAC Day event at The Domain, later moving venues to Cathy Freeman Park.

After explaining the venue change, Apex Entertainment CEO Andrew McManus commented, “We’ve put together a brilliant line-up of iconic rock’n’roll acts that is set to deliver an amazing day of music, no matter the location.”
