We managed a quick chat with POND before they boarded a plane last week.. Last week we managed to get a bit of time with Shiny Joe Ryan from POND before he jumped on a plane to go to the ARIAs. A far cry from POND's humble beginnings around the various backyard sheds of Fremantle. Unfortunately we didn't get a hell of a lot of time with him, but we learnt about their plans for next year, which sound rather exciting. You can catch POND at one of the following dates, and at Southbound/Falls Festival next year.

Future Classic legend Charles Murdoch made a sweet 1/2 hour mix for us - d/l it for free.. We have a chat to the Melbourne based street artist, graphic designer and illustrator.. Peche is the moniker of Australian artist, illustrator and graphic designer Dipesh Prasad. His work pretty much speaks for itself, and we caught up recently for a Q&A.

Palace are invited to reimagine British art into a new range of skateboard decks. After the recent £45m redesign, London art gallery The Tate are working to reach out to an audience slightly younger and more diverse than usual. They've just linked up with Warp Records for a programme of installation and performance events involving creatives such as Hudson Mohawke, Rustie, Oneohtrix Point Never and Jeremy Deller - Palace Skateboards are also involved and they've gone and reinterpreted some incredible British art onto a new range of decks.

Cara Delevingne sheds her wings for the pearl.. I recently developed an obsession with pearls and was going to write about this perfect Akoya pearl ring by Sophie Bille Brahe, but then I found something even better. We recently saw Cara in the Victoria’s Secret 2013 Fashion Show gorgeously donning a black sequin bustier ensemble and maleficent wings (and of course fooling around with the $10 million Fantasy Bra). Now, photographed by the amazeballs Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, La Perla’s Spring 2014 campaign features Cara, along with models Liu Wen and Malgosia Bela. While the brand designs some wickedly sexy (and cruelly pricey) lingerie, Cara's fierce brows and penetrating eyes complete the devastatingly pleasing looks.  I can’t wait to see the whole collection, but here’re some peeks: La Perla WEBSITE

So we decided to start a record label.... For the past 12 or so months we’ve been doing our darndest to impact the cultural landscape. Whether it’s via a premium quality digital magazine, a classy-looking website filled with stuff we think you’ll think is cool, or throwing parties around the country with international and national artists at the top of their game, 2013 has been a massive year. And so as we look ahead to 2014, we wonder how on earth could we possibly give ourselves more shit to do, throw more parties, and generally be the best possible collective of human beings we could. With that in mind, we’re nervous, excited, stoked, and above all else fucking proud to announce the launch of Pilerats Records. We can’t wait to share more with you soon, but for now here’s a short video that gives us massive, Ron-Burgundy-would-be-jealous, erections:

...and his fantastic royal aquatic kingdom.. My goal in life is to one day receive a letter in the mail that will be hand written on tea stain-coloured paper. The letter will be addressed to Miss Bahar Sayed, and when I open it, I will not find a speeding fine or a pointless bank statement. Instead, the lined note paper will read “I approve”, and in the bottom right hand corner of the page will sit Wes Anderson’s autograph. Maybe I should aim for something more attainable; yes…that though has crossed my mind. But then what fun would my life be without ridiculous daydreams.

Two swedes have developed an invisible bike helmet.. If you’re looking to give bike riding another chance, now that cars are becoming more insanely expensive to run every day, read on, because you will be pleasantly surprised that the ridiculous, uncomfortable and downright ugly bike helmets are now a thing of the past.  Two Swedish industrial designers Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin came up with the concept whilst studying at the University of Lund in 2005. Eight years later, it’s finally on the market, and for a meagre $535 (a price we imagine will eventually come down once this genius invention becomes mass produced), you too can own one. Some Breaking Bad feels in these amazing digital paintings.. Isabella Morawetz is a 22-year-old digital artist and graphic designer.
