The talented and beautiful beatstress is launching her new EP, and saying goodbye!. West Australian singer/songwriter/producer Leure has just dropped the first taste of her upcoming Lightfields EP, and the title track features Ash Hendriks' typically beautiful take on electronica, with ethereal vocals drifting over sparse yet complex beats. To celebrate, she's playing an EP launch show in WA at Mojos, Fremantle, which is also doubling as a farewell show before she leaves to Amsterdam for an artist residency and to write an album. She's joined by a couple of Pilerats favourites in Leon Osborn and Catlips (check all the details HERE), but until then enjoy Lightfields below.

#hellfuckyeah. If you can name a bigger rock band in Australia right now I'll eat my hat. They just tore Groovin' The Moo another one follow summer festival dominance, and are about to embark on a MASSIVE, almost completely sold out national tour (it's probably sold out by the time you're reading this), but not before they head to Perth a few days early to play Circo Festival (tickets for which you can still get HERE). Hannah Valmadre got on the phone to frontman Lulke Boerdam to talk 420 sets, Culture Jam, and the current state of affairs in Brisbane.

Melbourne trio Yujen breakdown their killer debut EP for us.. Late last year we stumbled across Melbourne trio Yujen, backed by the bearded wonder Chet Faker. The group make lush, atmospheric electronica for the soul, and have just released their debut EP, No Aware, and were kind enough to send us a few words about each of the six tracks on offer. It's time to get serious.. Today marks the probably the heaviest - and most exciting - Friday Freebie we've had the chance to share with you in some time. We've been following the progress of young Morgan and Fletcher AKA Slumberjack since their inception last year, and their latest release on the Die High Records label we feel marks a turning point. Their production game has always been on point, but Felon has taken what we know about the duo's penchant for the bass-heavy and turned it all the way up to down for what. With echoes of TNGHT (R.I.P), it delves head first into a deep, dank and dark club, only coming up for air with a delicate piano outro to pull you back to reality. Headed back down under with their latest album, Nabuma Rubberband.. Following the release of their critically-adored fourth album Nabuma Rubberband earlier this year, Swedish electro-pop guns Little Dragon are headed down our way for a limited run of initimate shows on the east coast. Zone Lowe already proclaimed single Klapp Klapp (video below) as the 'Hottest Record in The World', while Paris is also killing it with the groups patented brand of R&B/electro/pop/dance, always glued together by the beautifully unique vocals of frontwoman Yukimi Nagano. A debut album is as good a reason as any for a party, right?. In 2012, I was wandering around Brisbane during BIGSOUND trying to find my friend, when I heard an explosion of sound come from above me. I went into the Zoo, and this was the best decision I made all conference. Greeted with one hell of a show, super catchy songs, and crazy energetic live show, I was immediately hooked on Northeast Party House. Now this young Melbourne band are ready to really show you what they’ve got. They’ve done the groundwork, perfecting their live show, and have released one of the funkiest dance albums to come out of Australia this year. Wet have had a pretty great past 12 months, in Australia especially once triple j latched onto a couple of tracks and got everyone 'round here very familiar very quickly. What kinda tunes we talkin’? Emerging adult emo. To celebrate the release of new single Kobe, downtempo Melbourne producer Yeo is setting off on a massive national tour to celebrate what's been a great year following the success of previous single Girl. Having spent the summer touring with the likes of Ngairre, Fractures and UK buzz-band Glass Animals, Yeo has released the second offering from his upcoming debut EP, Kobe, and it comes with a gorgeous video clip filmed by music video director Rhett Farrell from Sydney collective Moop Jaw. Meet NY-based producer Thomas Arsenault, AKA Mas Ysa.. Mas Ysa is another of a heap of interesting acts making up the lower part of the Splendour In The Grass 2014 line-up - acts you might not know too well yet, but will do yourself a massive favour in getting to know them... Who are you? Thomas Augustin Lenny Davila Arsenault is my name if that's what you mean. Other than that, aren't we all one? I'm you, you're me, and so on.   How’d you meet? I was incarnated then found a mirror. I'm just one person in this music of Mas Ysa. What kinda tunes we talkin’? Electronic, some upbeat, some ballads, some instrumental, loosely improvised, pretty confessional. Lots of kick drum, sometimes noisy. Sometimes soft.  Production/writing process: Each tune is different. And as my tour schedule changes, the way I work is changing. The normal stuff, I muse, I dance around.
