One of the year's most anticipated albums gets another single.. A couple of months ago Caribou dropped the first taste from his upcoming album release in Can't Do Without You, which was met with super excitement - one friend said it sounded like Caribou by way of David Guetta, and that he really loved it. I'm not sure what kind of praise that is, but he's one of the biggest Caribou fans that I know, so let's go with positive. Well he's now dropped the title track - Our Love - and it's another indication of where Dan Snaith is heading in 2014 - rave town. Caribou's sound has always had elements of house and techno, but it was always fairly restrained. Our Love feels like he's really going for it, and goddamn I'm fucking excited. That drop is anything. Header Photo: Willow Beats @ Mondo, Perth by Aaron Webber Starting a night of quality Melbourne-based electronica acts, hypnotic trio Yujen graced the stage full of down-tempo melodies and even a sample from Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), the ambient openers ripping through a set that included the impressive single Try It Over. Vocalist Sam Tilley revealing “we showed [Chet Faker] the song and he was searching for someone to sing on it, before just deciding on doing it himself”. With stellar support from brothers Will and Mitch Anderson this is a group to keep an eye on. Alta brought many things to their set; and while an inflatable goon bag was not one of them, somehow a shiny silver bag was still escorted through the crowd as the duo started what was to be a vibrant set. A dreamy new single from WA outfit Our Man In Berlin.. We've been keenly following WA outfit Our Man In Berlin since first hearing their single Flight earlier this year (listen HERE), and their latest effort - Cirrhosis - makes it pretty clear why. Pilerats' fave $wag lord Paces chills things down for the first of a few Problems remixes.. Adelaide duo Problems are making some serious inroads into the Aussie producer scene if their new single Capture Me is anything to go by. While you can check out the original version of the tune via this wavey VIDEO CLIP, this week the focus shifts towards a pretty sweet remix package that kicked off last Friday with none other than ya boi Paces. Having a killer year himself (including recently slaying Splendour In The Grass), he had this to say of of a somewhat more subdued re-work than we're used to: "I’ve been learning some music theory lately. This is the first of a bunch of new tunes I’ve made with a slightly improved grasp on what I’m doing. Hope you vibe on it!" Bathurst duo LOLO BX bring future R&B vibes on their new EP.. DIY, Bathurst-based bros LOLO BX have announced themselves to the Australian electronic scene with their first official two-track EP, Too Curious, out now on Die High Records. The title track is an electronic jam celebrating our current R&B resurgence, featuring the unique vocals of Chicago-based "next big thing", Mayo. The second offering, Airworks, is the perfect follow-up, rounding out a killer one-two punch for the duo following their self-released Spring EP late last year. They scored a nomination at the recent Stoney Roads Breakthrough Producer Of The Year Awards, and if Too Curious is any indication, we're looking forward to lot more from the twosome. Violent Soho can do no wrong.. Between dudes ripping gumboot bongs during their set at SPLENDOUR and customised beer pong TABLES, I think it's safe to say Violent Soho are Australia's favourite rock'n'roll act in 2014. The fact they have consistently backed it up with incredible live shows and just generally being sick cunts (they really do epitomise the phrase), puts them in good stead to lord of the this country's rock heap for a long time to come. They're now taking their wares overseas, with the Aus' chart-smashing album Hungry Ghost set to take over the states. In celebration they've dropped their video clip for Saramona Said in the US, and it's a masterclass in film making from creators Garetz Media, who had purchased an old car to literally rip the roof off it and assemble moving tracks for the camera. It's epic, and will make you long for the weekend even harder than you already do:

Benson's serious new basshouse banger is touring the country.. Melbourne mate and man of the night Benson has dropped a new single, which also doubles as announcing his annointment into the Australian House Mafia you know as Sweat It Out, and it's a ball-tearer of a start. The tune, Hot Mess feat. Lex Famous on the vocals and starts out all nice like, before slamming in to the kind of bassy goodness which has had us grooving all year, to the point where we threw him in with a bunch of legends doing grand things in house music at the moment (check it HERE). It's out officially via Sweat It Out August 22, with remixes from Aussie house illumaniti such as Yolanda Be Cool, Dom Dolla and Jad & The Ladyboy. Sydney's Mammals give us a short'n'sweet run through of their debut EP.. Sydney's Mammal's release their debut EP Animalia Friday 15 August, and it caps off an impressive time for the group that includes the first single Wolf garnering accolades all over the place, along with the just-dropped Goldroom collab - Till Sunrise (listen HERE).
