Supreme vibes coming from the deep south of Australia.. From all the way down in Tasmania comes an incredibly assured debut self-titled EP from 17 and 19 year old electronic duo, Close Counters. Having joined forces last year, Finn Rees and Allan McConnell began experimenting with a variety of instruments, sounds and production techniques, and the results thus far are pretty special. Sitting somewhere between an amalgamation of Disclosure, Hermitude, fellow Tasmanian Akuou and Flying Lotus, their four-track debut EP is as diverse as it is interesting as it is just plain groovy. Cruising on glowing synths, gritty drum-machines, and stratospheric vocals, GL are a Melbourne duo who've recently signed to Sydney label Plastic World, with their debut self-titled EP out now. We are Graeme Pogson (G) and Ella Thompson (L) from Melbourne. GL is our exploration of the birth of the '80s computer generation and post new wave apocalypse. Kele has debuted a new song - Coasting - off of his sophomore solo album, Trick, due October 10 via Lilac Records/Kobalt Label Services. One of Melbourne's best kept secrets won't remain that way for much longer.. With Melbourne outfit Rat & Co about to join a European tour with Hoodlem, it makes sense they'd drop a sneaky remix of that act's single, Firing Line. Rat & Co recently joined Chet Faker around Aus' on his recent Built On Glass album tour, and you get the feeling they are on a fast incline with their sparse, haunting productions and strong groove. We had a sit down with Golden Features before he destroyed two sets at CIRCO Festival this year.. While it pains us to say "hottest dance act in Australia right now", it has to be said Golden Features is definitely there or there-abouts at the moment. He first exploded onto the scene with a free debut EP (listen HERE) in February of this year, and has quickly gone on to become one of the most in-demand acts on Australia's club/festival circuit. At the time of the interview not much had been revealed beyond his mask and a penchat for dark, bassy house, and we talked letting the music speak first, not getting tied down to any particular genre, and his old days graffing around Sydney. Young Sable drops a Pokem-honouring two-track 7-inch.. Having been buds since they were all of 13 years old, you might say Kito & Reija Lee were destined to do good things together. LA-based duo Overjoy drop their new single via Club Sweat.. After the success of LA-based duo Overjoy's Club Sweat debut Monstrous, which earned support from the likes of Benoit & Sergio and Touch Sensitive, the duo known as Metty and Hoff to their mates are pack on the Sweat It Out-run label with a new single, Stop. Following deeper, darker vibes on Monstrous, Stop has two feet firmly planted on the d-floor (until they start shuffling of course), with groove and basslines for days, and a luring vocal stab making sure you "don't stop". The duo are also responsbile for introducing vocalist Lex Famous to the world - who recently laid down some lyrics for Benson on his tune, Hot Mess (listen HERE). The clip for Cold draws some inspiration from the recent Warehouse Project Tour.. Following the horror-inspired visuals for the clip to I Want U, and our own video dude's effort on second single Lies, today sees the release of a new clip for Alison Wonderland's latest single and Lido colab - Cold. Taking place in a dark underground moshpit, it features everyone bar Alison stuck on loop, with director Prad Senanayake (The Presets, Aston Shuffle) drawing inspiration from one of Alison Wonderland's recent warehouse project shows. Senanayake was blown away by the intensity of energy that he saw and seeing the tiny figure of Alison being uniquely unaffected the mayhem of the crowd that surrounded/engulfed her.
