New: Savoir - Malala
One of Perth's hidden gems finally releases some new music.. Perth three-piece Savoir are such teases. First, they gave us that incredible Perth Boiler Room performance last year, the one people still casually bring up today and just exchange knowing glances, slowly shaking their heads side to side in wonder... [embed width=320 height=240 class=left thumbnail=http://tattletailzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/oprah-shakes-head.gif?r=52267]http://tattletailzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/oprah-shakes-head.gif[/embed] Then, around the same time (early 2013) they dropped the soul-stirring bomb that was Zinili Rhythm, a track that fast became the most played track on Perth independent radio station RTRFM (not an actual statistic, but everyone was definitely thrashing it, 'coz it universally ruled). But then, after we all fell hard for them, they never called us back. There was no releases for a year and a half, and only a smattering of live gigs. "It's time for our quarter-yearly live se

Lido's Diplo & Friends Mix
Bangers, Norway style.. You know you're being earmarked for hugeness when global dancefloor tastemaker Diplo invites you to do one of his BBC1Extra Diplo & Friends mixes. Cashmere Cat's bestie, Norwegian producer Lido, from the Pelican Fly record label (Richelle, Mr Tweeks) recently got on board and his 60 minute mix is devastatingly good. As well as a whole bunch of new Lido dubs, there's Lido's recent slow-burning remix of The Weeknd’s Often, a classic cut from Boyz II Men, a cover of Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River, as well as Ariana Grande, Yung Lean, ZHU, and of course, Cashie. The highlight in a long list of highlights is Lido’s version of '70s soul classic Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers – there’s bubbles, there’s builds, and you can just imagine this going down a treat in the club, the heart-warming breather in an otherwise fast-paced set. Stream it here and forget about everything you were planning on doing for the next hour, because... party in your chair. If you need m

My Favourite Things: Holy Holy
The Brisbane rockers take a few happy snaps of their favourite things for us.. Brisbane psych-folk outfit Holy Holy are on a roll. Following the release of a beautiful new video clip for the single History, and they've just popped up on Triple J Mornings for Like A Version, smashing out a glorious version of Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart. We asked them to get snapping on their iPhone and give us a bit of insight into a few of their favourite things whilst they're also in the midst of a national tour. Check those things below, along with their remaining tour dates... DZ Z GUITAR AMP This isn't actually mine. I wish it was. It belongs to our producer, Matt Redlich. He let me use it on the QLD leg of our History tour. It is, without a doubt, the finest guitar amplifier I have ever used. We could only actually turn it up to 0.3 on the stage and that was enough, and still it sounded beautiful. I want one.  RICE SHAKER This is a shaker that I devised myself. It handily doubles as

Friday Freebie: Elk Road - Hurt No More
A huge new original from Elk Road.. If super tight production gets you going, look no further than rapidly-rising WA-based producer Elk Road (check an interview we did with him a while ago HERE) He's been in the game for a few years now under a variety of different guises, but his latest venture is garnering serious attention from all over the world. And for a simple reason as to why this is just stream his latest single, Hurt No More. There's so much going on in this track it's almost hard to get your head around, but none of it feels forced or too much, it all works perfectly, and the change-up around 1/3 of the way in is pure dancefloor fire. We're way past the stage of simply "keeping an eye" on Elk Road, just really excited about one of this country's brightest-burning talents. Follow Elk Road: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

New: Mykki Blanco - Moshing In The Front feat. Cities Aviv
Listen to NY rapper Mykki Blanco shred the world to bits with his insane new, punk-influenced track.. “My new shit gonna make the Internet shit themselves…my new shit is very live, noise pedals and shit”… provocative underground rapper Mykki Blanco said this on his Twitter a few months ago in reference to Gay Dog Food: Fem Slick, his new mixtape coming out on UNO NYC Recordings on Oct 28 (a precursor to Mykki Blanco’s debut album Michael, which is due around March/April next year).  The first taste we heard of Gay Dog Food - which is set to feature drill rapper Katie Got Bandz and sexy R&B singer Ian Isiah - was back in September, via New Feelings, a loose spoken-word rambler loaded with outer space sounds and P-funk synths that left, erm, a bit to be desired. But we just listened to the next offering from the tape - Moshing In the Front - which was released this morning, and our cosmic angel has totally come through on that Tweet. The track features a fair bit of noise distortion, wit

Interview: George Maple
The latest apple in Future Classic's eye mulls over a huge year, with bigger things to come.. Jess Higgs is somewhere in Sydney watching a storm materialise over a beach. I’m in Brisbane, surrounded by clutter in my study. We’ve hung up on each, and have been playing ping pong with each other’s calls for the past few minutes trying to get the interview back on track: real professional. Chances are you might already be familiar with Higgs’ work, previously featuring on Flight Facilities’ Foreign Language as Jess, and also as her moniker George Maple on Flume’s Bring You Down.   George Maple, and 2014, sees Higgs taking a step out of the shadows and into the limelight of a fledgling solo career. New single Talk Talk, from her forthcoming EP Vacant Space, is a blend of evocative, electronic production and some sultry, soulful vocals. Currently splitting her time between Sydney, America and London, she took 15 minutes out of her Tuesday morning to talk to me. The new single is Talk Talk.

Interview - Edie Green
Get to know WA-based indie-pop outfit Edie Green as they launch their new AA single.. Summery pop doesn’t usually have darkness or edginess to it, but Perth-based indie-folk-pop act Edie Green’s sound is more complex than most. Brilliant drum beats, great guitars and incredible vocals are all in abundance – they know what they’re doing, and Australia likes it – they came second overall in the national Campus Bands Comp last year, which means they’ve already been given the tick of approval by trend-forecasting, on-the-pulse uni students across the nation. With a double-A side out this weekend and an EP due early next year, Edie Green’s star is on the rise. The first time I saw Perth musician Sophie Wiegele play was back in 2011, outside a small Italian restaurant near the beach. She sat in the corner of the courtyard on a wooden stool and softly sung a number of covers and original pieces whilst playing her acoustic guitar. I can’t remember much about the meal or what was talked about o
