Splendour chats and urinating in bottles with Wavves.... This one time at Splendour In The Grass we had the pleasure of interviewing a - let's be honest, very drunk - Wavves after their barnstorming mainstage set earlier in the day. What resulted was our favourite chat of the festival, and a bottle full of urine...

Our Stagebound selection selects five WA-based artists of their own.. As part of Southbound's Stagebound competition, three acts have been chosen to go in the running for a chance to play at next year's edition of the Festival, with three media outlets each picking one to get behind. Some funky as hell music out of Sweden.. Tobtok is the nomme de plume of Swedish producer Tobias Karlsson, who I'll admit was relatively unknown to myself until his latest EP Savanna was passed on to me having just been released on French tastemaker label Kitsuné. The five-tracker features a couple of remixes, along with an Australian connection on the track Free in the form of Hoodlem. You may recall Hoodlem from a track we shared recently that Rat & Co jumped on remix duties for (listen HERE). Free is a different beast - a funky, grooving slow disco jam, with Hoodlem's vocals doing good tangs over the top. The Melbourne electronic duo sign with Caroline with a tasty new single.. It's been over a year since we first started listening to/talking about Melbourne electronica duo Alta and their Game Broke Out EP, followed by the incredible video clip/song combo of Wash It Down earlier this year. Now, heading into 2015, the future is looking bright as the duo have announced their signing to the awesome folks over at Caroline, and doing so, dropped a hypnotic new single in Hold Your Fire. It's the first of a few to come moving forward, and has done nothing to quell our excitement for one of our fave Aussie electronic acts - they killed it when they supported Willow Beats at the Northcote Social club a couple of months back. San Cisco's new clip is a psychedelic dream run wild.. The San Cisco express is picking up steam ahead of what no doubt be a very busy summer for the WA indie-pop outfit. Following the release of their first single in a fair while - Run, said song now has a Matt Sav-directed video clip. You may remember Sav from our own HAMJAM's recent beach-bound video clip for Love, and Run contains more of the director's signature bright, colourful, retro styilngs, and heaps of lycra. Meet the duo behind Stoney Roads Records' second-ever release.. Since announcing the launch of their new Stoney Roads Records label, the good lads over at Stoney Roads have dropped two tunes thus far. The first saw some fairly chilled future-beat stylings in the form of 20-year-old German producer Mazde and his tune Shifted Thoughts feat. La Mar. Since then the featured vocalists on that track - La Mar - can proudly laid claim to release 002 - Anchor, another very chilled slice of groovy electronica.
