The Roots are in their element live, are great stage performers and don’t have to answer to anyone when they deliver a show as good as this.

Despite what the Blues Explosion name and other indie and blues-punk titles may suggest, this is big, bold rock that cuts through generational divides, with a lighter sprinkling of blues to flavour the mix.

Pop isn’t dead, and Bundick pushes the genre forward using his skills of composition, leaving us wondering where he will head next.

Gentle cascades and a long piano interlude create spaces and places in which it is easy to loose track of time, before finally increasing in intensity to a beautiful finish.
