Album Review: Zeds Dead - Northern Lights

StarStarStarStar

"A mixed bag of electro goodness."

More Zeds Dead Zeds Dead Profile

Toronto's dynamic DJ duo Zeds Dead usher their debut into the world under the weight of hefty anticipation, not least because a bevy of guest artists grace the liner notes.

After a string of EPs since their formation back in 2009, the wait for Northern Lights has many wondering if it's been worthwhile. Thankfully for fans, it's a yes. Global tours and live sets have given them the pulling power to attract Twin Shadow on house standout Stardust, Elliphant on the glitch Blame with Diplo, Ghetts on rootsy EDM rager Already Done, and even Weezer's Rivers Cuomo and Pusha T for pop gem Too Young. It's a mixed bag of electro goodness that only ever entertains and never alienates genre newcomers.
