‘I Stay Out Of It. I Cook’: Even After 13 Years Between Albums, Coming Up With A Karnivool Setlist Remains Quite The Feat

Album Review: Yann Tiersen - ∞

"Ambient yet somehow unnerving melodies that have been absent in much of his previous work"

More Yann Tiersen Yann Tiersen

Yann Tiersen's new album, ∞ (Infinity), is characteristically atmospheric and calming but features an added element: ambient yet somehow unnerving melodies that have been absent in much of his previous work. The album opens with the title track, an instrumental that begins with a slow and understated tune and builds slightly towards the end; however, the track feels to act more as an introduction to Slippery Stones. Slippery Slones builds faster toward a crescendo and involves the first vocal feature on the album. The record concludes with a spoken word piece set over a soft melody on Meteorites.
