Naomi Christie is a Los Angeles-based photographer who we've featured a few times in past on Pilerats, most recently THIS interview. Last weekend she was on hand to document one of many, many Women's Marches around the world, protesting against the new leader of the free world, and his poor (to put it lightly) attitude towards women/gender nonconforming people. Check out a selection of images below, and some thoughts from Christie herself:
"It was truly an amazing thing to be apart of, being the biggest protest in all of U.S. history. LA alone had a turn out of about 750,000 people. The passion rippled through the air as chants bellowed through the thick streets of downtown Los Angeles. We anticipated chaos, but as we marched the urban streets, a beautiful harmony was formed. A cacophony of rasped voices eagerly chanting for justice. To walk in that felt like we all had a mutual fire roaring inside us, a fire that could not be cooled by comfort or tamed by fear. It was passionate but peaceful, for not a single arrest was made. It was like we all made a pact to resist and continue to resist with grace."
