A record so drenched in the metal of old it risks losing its identifiability
When Wolf hit the scene, there wasn’t a lot of classic metal going around. While the band’s traditional attitude may have helped them get their footing, it may also be what damns them.
With riffs and tones that sound like a polished Venom and vocals channeling Rob Halford, Niklas “Viper” Stålvind and the boys have cut a record so drenched in the metal of old it risks losing its identifiability. That said, Shark Attack and Skeleton Woman are bangers of the highest order, and The Dark Passenger demonstrates their versatility – even if they are keen to hide it.
